These Terms form an agreement between Edvia and the person or organisation using the platform. By creating an account, accepting an invitation, purchasing a service, or continuing to use Edvia, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If a school or other organisation provides your account, its agreement with Edvia may contain additional requirements.
1. Who may use Edvia and who accepts these Terms
Edvia is an all-ages learning platform. Adults who use Edvia accept these Terms for themselves. A learner who is below the age at which they can enter this agreement or consent to relevant data processing under applicable law may use Edvia only when a parent, legal guardian, or authorised school has reviewed and approved the account and use of the platform.
A person accepting these Terms for a learner, school, or organisation confirms that they have authority to do so. Schools must obtain any family notices, permissions, or consents required for accounts they create or authorise.
2. Accounts and account security
- Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
- Keep login credentials private and do not share or transfer an account.
- Use the role assigned to you and do not attempt to obtain another user’s permissions.
- Notify Edvia or your school promptly if an account may have been compromised.
- Parents, guardians, and schools are responsible for supervising younger learners as appropriate for their age and circumstances.
3. The educational service
Edvia provides course content, recommendations, assessments, assignments, progress records, live learning events, virtual campuses, communication tools, and gamified learning features. Features available to a user depend on their role, school, course, subscription, and administrator settings.
Recommendations, scores, badges, and progress indicators support learning decisions but do not guarantee a particular academic result, qualification, admission, employment outcome, or professional licence. Educators and schools remain responsible for their instructional and formal assessment decisions.
4. School and educator responsibilities
- Use learner information only for legitimate educational, support, safeguarding, and administrative purposes.
- Assign staff only to learners, courses, campuses, and records they are authorised to manage.
- Maintain appropriate supervision and safeguarding procedures for live sessions and communications.
- Review content, third-party resources, assessment settings, and age suitability before assigning them.
- Promptly remove or update access when a learner or staff member leaves or changes role.
5. Acceptable use
You must use Edvia respectfully, lawfully, and for learning or authorised school operations. You must not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, exploit, groom, discriminate against, or impersonate another person.
- Share personal, confidential, sexual, violent, hateful, infringing, deceptive, or otherwise harmful material.
- Post another person’s private information without appropriate authority.
- Cheat, falsify evidence, manipulate scores or rewards, or interfere with another learner’s work.
- Probe, bypass, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt security, access controls, services, or infrastructure.
- Use automated tools or artificial accounts except where Edvia has expressly authorised them.
- Use Edvia for unlawful commercial activity, advertising, spam, malware, or infringement of intellectual-property rights.
6. Campuses, chats, houses, and live activities
Virtual campuses, rooms, chats, attachments, houses, invitations, and live events are shared learning spaces. Users must follow educator instructions and may communicate only in an age-appropriate and respectful way.
Messages, attachments, participation records, and safety-related activity may be stored and reviewed when required to operate the service, investigate a report, protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. Do not rely on Edvia chat for emergencies. Contact a trusted adult, school safeguarding contact, or emergency service when urgent help is required.
7. Learner and user content
You retain ownership of original work you submit. You grant Edvia and the relevant school a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, display, process, and share that work only as needed to provide, secure, support, and document the educational service.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions required for anything you upload. Edvia may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms, another person’s rights, school rules, or applicable law.
8. Edvia content and intellectual property
The platform software, design, branding, original curricula, virtual environments, documentation, and other Edvia materials are owned by or licensed to Edvia. Subject to these Terms, Edvia gives you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use them for personal learning or authorised school operations.
You may not sell, sublicense, publish, copy in bulk, remove ownership notices from, or create a competing service from Edvia materials unless you have written permission or applicable law expressly allows it.
9. Third-party content and services
Courses may link to videos, documents, conferencing, messaging, payment, storage, or other services operated by third parties. Their terms and privacy practices apply when you use them. Edvia does not control third-party availability or content and may replace or remove a resource that becomes unavailable, unsuitable, or unauthorised.
10. Tokens, avatars, houses, and virtual items
Tokens and virtual items are limited platform features, not money, stored value, securities, or property outside Edvia. Unless Edvia expressly states otherwise, they cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred between users, or sold outside the platform. Prices, earning rules, catalogues, and availability may change prospectively. Fraudulent or duplicated rewards may be corrected while preserving an audit record.
11. Fees, subscriptions, payments, and refunds
Paid services are governed by the order, school agreement, or checkout terms shown at purchase. Prices and applicable taxes must be paid through an approved method. Except where an order states otherwise or mandatory law requires a refund, fees for an activated subscription or delivered digital service are non-refundable. Virtual-token corrections do not automatically issue a monetary refund; approved monetary refunds are processed through the payment provider.
12. Privacy and educational records
The Privacy Policy explains how Edvia handles account, learning, communication, device, and support information. Schools may act as the controller or responsible educational institution for school-managed records, depending on applicable law and the school agreement.
A parent or guardian may contact the school or Edvia support to request appropriate access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion for a learner. Some records may be retained where required for education, safeguarding, fraud prevention, disputes, security, or law.
13. Suspension and termination
Edvia or an authorised school may restrict, suspend, or close an account to protect users, investigate misconduct, enforce these Terms, address non-payment, follow a school instruction, or comply with law. Where reasonable and safe, the account holder or responsible organisation will receive notice and an opportunity to contact support.
When access ends, rights to use the platform and virtual items end. Applicable record-retention and export obligations may continue.
14. Availability and changes
Edvia aims to provide a reliable service but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security work, connectivity, third-party outages, and events outside reasonable control may affect availability. Features may be improved, replaced, or retired while Edvia takes reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary loss of active learning records.
Material changes to these Terms will be posted with a new version date and, where appropriate, notified through the platform or the responsible school. New acceptance may be required before continued use.
15. Disclaimers and limits of responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Edvia is provided on an “as available” basis and implied warranties are excluded. Edvia is not responsible for user misconduct, unauthorised third-party content, or losses caused by matters outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, limits mandatory consumer or child-protection rights, or removes obligations expressly agreed in a school or commercial contract. To the extent permitted by law, Edvia’s aggregate liability arising from a paid service is limited to the fees paid for that service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
16. Governing law, disputes, and contact
Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The parties should first try to resolve a dispute through the in-platform support channel or the responsible school. If it cannot be resolved, courts with jurisdiction at Edvia’s principal place of business may hear the dispute, without limiting any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Questions, safety concerns, copyright notices, and legal requests may be submitted through the in-platform support channel. School-managed users may also contact their school administrator.
By selecting the Terms acceptance checkbox, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy and, where you act for a learner or organisation, that you have authority to do so.
